1. Who we are and what this agreement covers

Tactiq Fantasy ("Tactiq Fantasy," "we," "us," or "our") is a fantasy football (soccer) game currently operated by Carlo Ascobereta Arcaute and Theoharris Ouzounidis as individuals (no separate company has been formed). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tactiq Fantasy website and application (the "Service"), available at https://tactiq-fantasy.vercel.app.

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. What the Service is

Tactiq Fantasy lets you build a fantasy squad of real LaLiga players within a budget cap, set weekly lineups, make transfers, and compete against other users in a scoring league based on those players' real-world match performance. Match and player statistics are sourced from a third-party sports-data provider (TheStatsAPI); we do not create or control the underlying sports data and are not responsible for its accuracy or timeliness.

The Service is provided for entertainment purposes. It is not, and is not intended to be, a gambling or betting product.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must agree to these Terms on your behalf and takes responsibility for your use of the Service.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account without your consent, contact us at ascoberetacarlo@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to remove the account and associated data.

4. Accounts

You need an account (email and password) to use most of the Service. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at ascoberetacarlo@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. One person, one account — don't create multiple accounts to gain an advantage in a league (e.g., extra squads to test lineups against yourself).

We may suspend or terminate your account as described in Section 10.

5. Leagues

When you sign up, you're currently placed into a single shared league alongside other Tactiq Fantasy users. [If multiple or private leagues, join codes, or league creation by users are added later, this section needs to be rewritten to describe how leagues are created, joined, and moderated.]

We don't guarantee the composition of any league, the number of participants, or that any given season will run to completion — we may need to pause, reset, or end a season for technical, operational, or legal reasons.

6. No real-money play

The Service is currently free to use. There are no entry fees, no cash prizes, and no way to win or wager real money through Tactiq Fantasy. Nothing in the Service should be understood as gambling, betting, or a game of chance for stakes.

If this changes — if we ever introduce entry fees, prize pools, or cash payouts — that is a materially different product with its own legal requirements (which vary significantly by country and can include gambling licensing), and we will update these Terms, seek appropriate legal and regulatory advice, and notify users before any such feature goes live. Nothing in these Terms should be read as authorizing real-money contests today.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Service, create accounts, or extract data, except where we explicitly provide an API for that purpose;
• Attempt to manipulate scoring, standings, or another user's squad or lineup through unauthorized access, exploits, or technical interference;
• Impersonate another person, or use a name, username, or league name that is abusive, harassing, hateful, obscene, or infringes someone else's rights;
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or the systems and networks connected to the Service;
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

We may remove content (such as a username or league name) or suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, at our discretion.

8. Intellectual property

The Tactiq Fantasy name, logo, and the software, design, and original content that make up the Service (excluding third-party data and any club/league names, crests, or player names, which belong to their respective owners) are owned by us or our licensors. You're granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the Service or its underlying code except as permitted by open-source licenses that may apply to specific components.

References to real football clubs, competitions, and players are used for identification and statistical purposes only. Tactiq Fantasy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LaLiga, any football club, or any player referenced in the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers, including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and TheStatsAPI (sports statistics). Their availability, accuracy, and performance affect the Service, and we're not responsible for outages, errors, or delays caused by these providers, including delayed or incorrect match statistics that affect scoring. We'll make reasonable efforts to correct significant scoring errors caused by bad source data, but we don't guarantee that every stat will be perfectly accurate or timely.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or for operational reasons (such as shutting down the Service). You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at ascoberetacarlo@gmail.com.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that scoring and statistics will always be accurate.

[This is a placeholder disclaimer clause common in consumer-facing ToS. Whether it's enforceable as written, and what it needs to say to comply with EU consumer-protection rules — which limit how far you can disclaim liability to consumers — needs lawyer review before publishing.]

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is currently free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount (if any) you've paid us in the past 12 months.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify users (such as an in-app notice or email) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you're a consumer resident in another EU country, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your own country's law may still apply to you notwithstanding this clause.
